Arcade platform
Take a trip back in time, and listen to some of the work of Ayako Mori.
If I had to pick one original Arcade machine, to have in my house, I wouldn’t hesitate one second. The Ghosts ‘n Goblins Arcade machine.
This is, in my opinion, the best Arcade game ever made.
This may have something to do with the fact that I was 15 years old, when this was released and that I was into all sorts of mythical and ghostly beings from the underworld, but mainly because the of the music – and graphics.
The sound and music in this game really suits the graphics and vice versa. The gameplay itself may be simple to some folks but this is completely rectified by the graphics and sound. Magical.
Game music from ‘Ghost ‘n Goblins‘. Game made by Capcom and was released in 1985 by Capcom.
I’ve haven’t played this game all that much and when playing I’ve only been able to reach the first part of stage 3, at my best (On PlayStation 2). But still, I’ve watched some very skilled players complete the entire game and each part of the game is stunning … creatures, backgrounds and music.
Speaking of music
I don’t remember much being able to hear the music when playing any games in the Arcade – as they would have a number of Arcade machines, and if they all played their music, it would be one big inferno of sound.
At my local hang-out Grill Bar, “John’s Grill”, the regular adult customers didn’t like all that “noise” from these “machines”, so the music volume was always turned way down or often off.
