With a Commodore A520 TV modulator, it is possible to connect your Amiga “directly” to the TV. I have never tried this though, or know someone who has, because we all were blessed with various computer monitors (eg. Commodore 1081/Commodore 1084S).

I believe that there is a connector that converts the signal from the Amiga 23-pin connector to a 9-pin VGA connector – so now you can connect your new flat screen TV, directly to the your Amiga – if you feel like it.
